Volleyball Recap: Frontier Regional's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Central, Frontier Regional was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Ludlow Lions. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Hawks as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Frontier Regional not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Ludlow between 17 and 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-20, 25-19.

Frontier Regional found their leader in freshman Evan Maio, who had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Maio.

Frontier Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in May of 2024.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Ludlow, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Frontier Regional will be playing in front of their home fans against Belchertown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ludlow, they will head out on the road to face off against Westfield at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Bombers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
