Basketball Recap: KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with KIPP College Prep

On Friday, KIPP DC Legacy College Prep faced KIPP College Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The KIPP DC Legacy College Prep Bulldogs took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the KIPP College Prep Panthers. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Despite the loss, KIPP DC Legacy College Prep saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amari Young posted 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for Young. The team also got some help courtesy of Marjae Robinson, who scored nine points.

Jaelyn Richardson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 14 rebounds for KIPP College Prep. Richardson's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 25 points.

KIPP DC Legacy College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for KIPP College Prep, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

As of now, neither KIPP DC Legacy College Prep nor KIPP College Prep have any future games scheduled.
