Recap: Battery Creek Dolphins vs. Philip Simmons Iron Horses

This season hasn't been kind to The Battery Creek Dolphins, who are still winless after their tenth game. They took a serious blow against Philip Simmons on Friday, falling 43-14. While losing is never fun, Battery Creek can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Philip Simmons is ranked 53rd).

Markellis "kj" Asbury was his usual excellent self, rushing for 261 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 16.3 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown. Asbury was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 55 yards. Another player making a difference was Tavien Orellana, who threw for 99 yards and two touchdowns.

Battery Creek's loss was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-1 Beaufort and 6-4 Hanahan (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 60.4% over those games). As for Philip Simmons, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Battery Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Philip Simmons will look to defend their home field on Friday against Manning at 7:30 p.m.
