Baseball Recap: Springboro Takes a Loss

Springboro entered their contest against Olentangy Liberty on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Panthers took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Micah Brandon and Vince Fortkamp did some serious damage despite the final result: Brandon went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Fortkamp went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Colten Muhlenkamp, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Springboro's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Olentangy Liberty, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

While Springboro had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
