Baseball Recap: Somerville Comes Up Short

Somerville fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Montgomery on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 4-3. The Pioneers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Somerville has also been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Montgomery, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerville will venture away from home to take on Princeton Day at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Montgomery, they will head out to challenge Voorhees at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday.
