Softball Recap: Clinton Dragons vs. Powell Panthers
Clinton lost against Powell back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Clinton Dragons took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Powell Panthers. Clinton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
For Powell's part, Kayleigh Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Smith has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances. Smith was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Gabby Kraatz was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and an RBI. Izy Wiles was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

As for Powell, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Knoxville Central at 6:00 p.m. Powell's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Knoxville Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
