Basketball Game Preview: Hanna Golden Eagles vs. Rivera Raiders

Hanna hasn't had much luck against Rivera recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Golden Eagles will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Raiders at 1:30 p.m. Rivera took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hanna, who comes in off a win.

Hanna will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Hidalgo Early College, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. The Golden Eagles pulled ahead with a 31-30 photo finish over the Pirates on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Golden Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Rivera ended up a good deal behind Mission on Saturday and lost 47-30.

Hanna's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Rivera, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Hanna might still be hurting after the 56-32 loss they got from Rivera in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Raiders' Xandria Johnson, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 21 rebounds.
