Softball Recap: Bishop Carroll Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Bishop Carroll's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Tuesday. They didn't even let the South Titans on the board, marking the Golden Eagles' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Emerson Hiebert looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop Carroll got a massive performance out of Allyson Orth, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Orth a new career-high. Emerson May also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Bishop Carroll hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in 12 consecutive matches.

Bishop Carroll's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for South, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
