Baseball Recap: Athens Takes a Loss

If Athens was riding high fresh off their 17-2 takedown of Phillips on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bluejays lost 10-1 to the Marathon Red Raiders on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bluejays in their meetings with the Red Raiders: they've now lost five in a row.

Athens' loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Marathon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Athens will welcome Chequamegon at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marathon, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Auburndale at 4:45 p.m.
