Chief Sealth is a perfect 8-0 against Rainier Beach since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Seahawks will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Chief Sealth is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
Chief Sealth will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Roosevelt, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Seahawks came out on top against the Roughriders by a score of 8-3 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Seahawks.
Seth Clark made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Clark was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Brady Murphy was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Nevin Pivar was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Rainier Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 18-0 to Lincoln.
Chief Sealth's win bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Rainier Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.
Chief Sealth's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Seahawks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Rainier Beach, though, as they've been averaging only 0.5 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Chief Sealth continue to outrun the ball?
