Soccer Game Preview: Monarch vs. Fairview

The Monarch Coyotes will head out on the road to challenge the Fairview Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Monarch is coming into the matchup fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Erie that saw the pair combine for seven shots on goal. The Coyotes came up short against the Tigers on Tuesday, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Fairview faced Erie in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Knights had just enough and edged out the Tigers 1-0. That's two games straight that Fairview have won by just one goal.

Fairview is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six contests. As for Monarch, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Monarch suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Fairview in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Can the Coyotes avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
