Basketball Game Preview: Farmington Phoenix vs. Northridge Knights

Two dominant guards in Cameron Brower and Cael Lake are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Farmington Phoenix will be home for the holidays to greet the Northridge Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Farmington came up into this matchup off a tough 23-point loss on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Dixie by a score of 66-63 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Phoenix can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Flyers are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Northridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 45-37 to West Field. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Northridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Farmington, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Farmington beat Northridge 78-68 in their previous meeting back in December of 2019. Will Farmington repeat their success, or does Northridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
