Softball Game Preview: Natalia Mustangs vs. Blanco Panthers

The Natalia Mustangs will take on the Blanco Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Natalia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.

Natalia barely beat Comfort the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Mustangs blew past the Bobcats/Deer 11-1 on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Mustangs as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Blanco earned a 7-3 victory over Bandera on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the BULLDOGS: they've now won five in a row.

Kinley Boyd made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Boyd was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Avery Flack and Landry Meyer did most of the damage at the plate: Flack went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Meyer went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Meyer has posted since back in February of 2025.

Blanco's victory bumped their record up to 6-8-1. As for Natalia, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Natalia hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .332. However, it's not like Blanco struggles in that department as they've averaged .328. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
