Basketball Recap: Shrine Catholic Comes Up Short

Shrine Catholic lost against St. Catherine of Siena Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Shrine Catholic Knights lost 69-47 to the St. Catherine of Siena Academy Athletes. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while the Athletes are ranked 167th).

Shrine Catholic has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for St. Catherine of Siena Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shrine Catholic will host Cabrini at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cabrini will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Shrine Catholic surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Catherine of Siena Academy, they will face off against Bishop Foley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Catherine of Siena Academy is facing Bishop Foley at the right time seeing as Bishop Foley is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
