Football Recap: North Port Bobcats vs. IMG Academy Blue Ascenders
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Charlotte, North Port was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the IMG Academy Blue Ascenders 55-17 on the road. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bobcats needed considering they were shutout in their previous game.
Max Jewett and Max Stafford certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Jewett picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Stafford threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns.
North Port's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Port will face off against Bonita Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for IMG Academy Blue, they will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on September 19th. IMG Academy Blue will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
