Basketball Recap: Rhea County's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Rhea County's game on Monday was all tied up 25-25 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Mount Pisgah Christian Academy by a score of 52-43. Given the Golden Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while Mount Pisgah Christian Academy are ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Mount Pisgah Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Kaylynn Walls, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Walls also racked up five blocks, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jesalyn Howard, who went 5 for 10 en route to 16 points and five boards.

The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. As for Mount Pisgah Christian Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-7.
