Softball Recap: Timpanogos Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

While Timpanogos's victory against Orem wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Timpanogos narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Orem 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Timberwolves have posted against the Tigers since March 18, 2021.

Shaylie Lang made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Lang was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kaleah Sao was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Kaydance Pope also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Timpanogos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The win was the eighth in a row for Timpanogos, bringing their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Orem, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timpanogos will take on Mountain View at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.36 runs per game on average), something Timpanogos will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Orem, they will face off against Wasatch at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wasatch has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.73 runs per game on average), something Orem will no doubt try to take advantage of.
