Basketball Game Preview: Syracuse Titans vs. Farmington Phoenix

The Syracuse Titans will challenge the Farmington Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Syracuse turned things around against Weber on Friday. They walked away with a 62-51 victory over the Warriors.

Syracuse can attribute much of their success to Carter Robinson, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards, and Colton Hoenigman, who shot 47% from the field en route to 21 points and eight rebounds. The game was Hoenigman's tenth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Cohen Godderidge, who posted six points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Farmington faced Layton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Phoenix were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to the Lancers. The loss continues a trend for the Phoenix in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Farmington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Syracuse, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Things could have been worse for Syracuse, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took an 80-66 loss to Farmington in their previous meeting back in January.
