Basketball Recap: Van Horn Takes a Loss

Van Horn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the McCamey Badgers, falling 39-17. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Van Horn lost, don't look at Robert Alvarado. Despite the final result, he posted ten points. Miguel Baeza also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Van Horn's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for McCamey, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Fort Hancock the next time they take the court. Van Horn will host Fort Hancock at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while McCamey will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
