Softball Recap: College Park Falcons vs. Granada Matadors

College Park had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Granada Matadors by a score of 6-5. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Matadors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Maya Davis made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nina Najafizadeh, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Looking ahead, College Park will square off against Miramonte at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games College Park has played (dating back to last season) have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Granada, they will face off against Liberty at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
