Volleyball Recap: Mountainside Takes a Loss

Mountainside lost against North Valley Christian Academy back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wolves came up short against the Lions, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-3, 25-17, 25-14.

Brodie Blackstad paced Mountainside's offense, picking up four kills. Blackstad got some help from Krista Fronsman and her two assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Valley Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Lovas, who had 15 assists and five digs. That's the most assists Lovas has posted over her last nine games. Jazlyn Sherby also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Mountainside has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for North Valley Christian Academy, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountainside will take on Madison Highland Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Valley Christian Academy, they will square off against Wickenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
