Basketball Recap: West Monroe Comes Up Short

West Monroe lost against Ruston back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Monroe Rebels received a blow as they fell 73-59 to the Ruston Bearcats. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Bearcats are ranked 18th).

Ruston found their leader in sophomore Ahmad Hudson, who dropped a double-double with 38 points and 20 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hudson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aidan Anding, who posted 18 points.

This is the second loss in a row for West Monroe and nudges their season record down to 13-15. As for Ruston, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

West Monroe has already played their next contest, a 68-32 win against Caldwell Parish on the 16th. Ruston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
