Basketball Recap: Ellie Crawford's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Hoisington over Pratt

Hoisington was the 52-32 winner over Pratt when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hoisington Cardinals took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pratt Greenbacks on Friday. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hoisington's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ellie Crawford, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Marley Bittel, who went 6 for 13 en route to 17 points.

Hoisington now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Pratt, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-1-2 and their overall record up to 6-2-2.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Hoisington Cardinals take on the Ellsworth Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pratt has already played their next game (against LaCrosse), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
