Basketball Recap: Ashland Takes a Loss

Ashland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the Independence Wildcats, falling 47-25. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Wildcats are ranked 109th).

Ashland's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Independence, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Ashland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-12 loss against North Panola on the 30th. Independence has also already played their next contest, a 49-30 win against Calhoun Academy on the 28th.
