Volleyball Recap: High Point Academy Wins Going Away Against Liberty

High Point Academy hadn't done well against Liberty recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Grizzlies were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Red Devils. This was a revenge game for the Grizzlies: when they faced off against the Red Devils back in September, they had to take a 3-2 loss.

High Point Academy was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-10, 25-21.

Addy Purser paced High Point Academy's offense, picking up 27 kills. Purser got some help from Davan Beall and her 28 assists. Purser also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Cicely Sloan, each putting up four.

High Point Academy pushed their record up to 9-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. High Point Academy will square off against rival Landrum at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Liberty is set to face off against their familiar foe Brashier Middle College Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
