Basketball Game Preview: Chester Clippers vs. Academy Park Knights

Chester hasn't had much luck against Academy Park recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Chester Clippers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Academy Park Knights at 7:00 p.m. Chester is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, Chester really took it to Interboro for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-24 win. With the Clippers ahead 45-16 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Chester got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ja?Mya Muhammad out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Muhammad is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Imani Dorsey was another key player, going 6 for 10 on her way to 18 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Academy Park, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Sacred Heart Academy by a score of 50-39 on Monday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Knights' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while the Lions are ranked 139th).

Academy Park's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Chester, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Chester skirted past Academy Park 45-43 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Will Chester repeat their success, or does Academy Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
