Soccer Game Preview: Cyprus vs. West Jordan

The Cyprus Pirates will head out to face off against the West Jordan Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cyprus has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Cyprus and Taylorsville, and Taylorsville kept the tradition alive. The Pirates lost 8-2 to the Warriors on Friday. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Cyprus were already down 4-1.

Meanwhile, West Jordan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Hunter, falling 4-0. That's two games in a row now that West Jordan have lost by exactly four goals.

West Jordan's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cyprus, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Cyprus skirted past West Jordan 1-0 when the teams last played back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
