Baseball Recap: Knippa Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sabinal, Knippa was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Charlotte Trojans. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Crushers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Joaquin G was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Knippa is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-11 otherwise. G was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Johnny R was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

Knippa's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Charlotte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.

Looking ahead, Knippa will host Benavides at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Crushers surely won't give up without a fight. Charlotte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
