Basketball Recap: Lyman Falls Short Against Ranked Pinedale

On Friday, Lyman faced Pinedale in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Lyman Eagles had to suffer through a 60-26 loss at the hands of the Pinedale Wranglers. The matchup marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Addison Smith was Lyman's leading scorer, having posted six points. Payton Anderson held things down on the boards with five rebounds.

Elyn Bowers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pinedale, going 7-for-11 from beyond the arc to rack up 33 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Bowers' evening made it 31 games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyxis White, who posted eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Lyman is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7. As for Pinedale, their win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1.

Coming up, Lyman will challenge Powell at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Powell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Pinedale, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-54 victory against Lander Valley on the 15th.
