Soccer Game Preview: Palmetto vs. Belton-Honea Path

The Palmetto Mustangs will head out to challenge the Belton-Honea Path Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Thursday, Palmetto didn't have quite enough to beat Carolina Academy and fell 3-2. Palmetto have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Belton-Honea Path's game on Thursday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They put the hurt on West-Oak with a sharp 6-2 victory. The result was nothing new for Belton-Honea Path, who have now won three matches by three goals or more so far this season.

Their offense was hitting West-Oak from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Taylor Tucker led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Palmetto's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Belton-Honea Path, their win bumped their record up to 3-7.

Everything went Palmetto's way against Belton-Honea Path when the teams last played back in March, as Palmetto made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
