Basketball Game Preview: Stevens Falcons vs. Brennan Bears

Stevens is 0-10 against Brennan since February of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. The Stevens Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Brennan Bears at 8:00 p.m.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Stevens faced off against Harlan on Saturday. Stevens lost 66-42 to Harlan. The Falcons' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Brennan had already won 14 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 48.1 points) and they went ahead and made it 15 on Saturday. They blew past the Huskies, posting a 109-20 victory. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Huskies are ranked 981st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Brennan's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 95.2 points per game. As for Stevens, their loss dropped their record down to 13-15.

Stevens was taken down by Brennan 99-45 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Stevens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
