Baseball Recap: Jensen Beach Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Jensen Beach barely beat Treasure Coast the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Falcons put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 7-1 victory on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Falcons as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

John Gillen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Jensen Beach is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-14 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Graham Garner was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Preston Honea was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Jensen Beach's victory bumped their record up to 9-15. As for Treasure Coast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.

Jensen Beach and Treasure Coast could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Falcons will take on John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (293 vs. 109). Meanwhile, Treasure Coast (ranked 310th) will meet Vero Beach (ranked 20th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
