Basketball Game Preview: Washington Warriors vs. Prairie Hawks

Washington is 2-8 against Prairie since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Washington Warriors will host the Prairie Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Prairie better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Washington really get things going. Washington really took it to Kennedy for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-41 win.

Meanwhile, Prairie strolled past Linn-Mar with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-40. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Lions are ranked 145th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Washington's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points over those games. As for Prairie, their win bumped their record up to 19-2.
