While Darlington's win against Marlboro County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons skirted past the Bulldogs 7-6. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Malaya Holt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

In other batting news, Darlington let Emily Johnson and Jeszariah McCall-Baynes run wild. Johnson went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run, while McCall-Baynes went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that McCall-Baynes has launched this season. Kee Key Bacote was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Darlington lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Darlington's record is now 12-2. As for Marlboro County, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Darlington will venture away from home to face off against South Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 2.7, the Bruins 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Marlboro County, they will face off against Georgetown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marlboro County's pitchers better be ready for this one: Georgetown has averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
