Basketball Recap: Winter Springs Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Winter Springs can now relate to. They had to suffer through a 68-34 loss at the hands of the Tocoi Creek Toros. The Bears have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Winter Springs lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Amara Norbutus, who posted five points. Jullianna Woodard was another key player, putting up seven points.

Audrey Beyer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Tocoi Creek, going 9-for-16 to rack up 25 points. The game was Beyer's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Asiana McCreary, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 16 points and five rebounds.

Winter Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Tocoi Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Winter Springs does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tocoi Creek, they will challenge Lake Howell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake Howell will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Tocoi Creek surely won't give up without a fight.
