Football Recap: Garfield Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Palisades Park/Leonia last Friday, Garfield came back down to earth. The Boilermakers lost 29-6 to the Lyndhurst Golden Bears on Friday. The Boilermakers have struggled against the Golden Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Lyndhurst found their leader in sophomore Avery Cano, who rushed for 183 yards and four scores while picking up 10.8 yards per carry. Cano showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 55 yards.

Garfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lyndhurst, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Garfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Elmwood Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lyndhurst will take on rival Palisades Park/Leonia at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
