Preview: Southwestern Heights Mustangs vs. Ulysses Tigers
The Southwestern Heights Mustangs are on the road again on Friday and play against the Ulysses Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Southwestern Heights will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Ulysses is ranked 127th).
Last Tuesday, Southwestern Heights took a serious blow against Hugoton, falling 90-38. Southwestern Heights has not had much luck with Hugoton recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, Ulysses beat Stanton County 54-45 on Tuesday. That 54-45 margin sets a new team best for Ulysses this season.
Southwestern Heights' defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Ulysses, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.
Southwestern Heights came up short against Ulysses in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 59-49. Can Southwestern Heights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
