Baseball Recap: Rolesville Beats Willow Spring for Their Third Straight Win

Rolesville proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Willow Spring Storm. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since April 25, 2024.

Cooper Redfern spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Rolesville let Jayshawn Richardson and Logan Daniel run wild. Richardson went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI, while Daniel scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave Richardson a new career-high.

The win (which was Rolesville's third in a row) raised their record to 8-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Willow Spring, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rolesville will square off against Knightdale at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.47 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
