It was a good run, but Caprock unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monterey Plainsmen. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Plainsmen are ranked 51st).

Caprock's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-2. As for Monterey, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Caprock has already played their next game (against Amarillo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Monterey will face off against Lubbock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Monterey is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5 goals per game this season.
