Softball Game Preview: Shawnee Redskins vs. Benton Rangers

The Shawnee Redskins will head out on the road to take on the Benton Rangers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Benton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Shawnee, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Shawnee turned things around against Cobden on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Appleknockers with a sharp 12-1 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Redskins needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Addilyn Clark made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Clark was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madalyn Schuster, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Emma Young was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
