Soccer Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christiansburg Blue Demons. While losing is never fun, Salem can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Christiansburg are ranked tenth).

Tyler Gillinger and Logan Lavinder scored both of Salem's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Christiansburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Salem didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-1 loss against Patrick Henry on the 22nd. As for Christiansburg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next contest, a 7-0 victory against Pulaski County on the 22nd.
