Ceres is a perfect 10-0 against Pacheco since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Ceres Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Pacheco Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Ceres is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Ceres turned things around against Lathrop on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 13-3 victory.
Samantha Alcarez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up nine Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

At the plate, Ava Montesdeoca was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh Robinson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.
Ceres was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Pacheco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 18-8 to Johansen.
Sophia Lowery made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Isabella Chavez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Ceres' win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Pacheco, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Pacheco's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ceres has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435. It's a different story for Pacheco, though, as they've only averaged .322. Will they be able to contain Ceres' hitters?
Ceres took their victory against Pacheco when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0. Will Ceres repeat their success, or does Pacheco have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
