Softball Recap: Patterson Mill Makes It Five in a Row on the Road

Patterson Mill won against Rising Sun last Wednesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. Patterson Mill walked away with a 9-5 victory over Rising Sun. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 last Wednesday.

Mackenzie Knight was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Savannah Reedy, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Patterson Mill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Patterson Mill pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Rising Sun, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Patterson Mill will square off against John Carroll at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rising Sun, they will head out to challenge North East at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
