Football Recap: Saddle Brook Takes a Loss

Saddle Brook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 14-13 heartbreaker at the hands of the New Milford Knights. The Falcons lost against the Knights in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 28-0 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Saddle Brook lost, don't look at Dylan Cerciello. Despite the final result, he rushed for 102 yards and two scores on only 13 carries.

Saddle Brook's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for New Milford, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Coming up, Saddle Brook will square off against Hawthorne at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for New Milford, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Butler at 3:00 p.m. The Knights will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
