Basketball Game Preview: Corbett Cardinals vs. Rainier Columbians

Corbett has gone a perfect 5-0 against Rainier recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Corbett Cardinals will be playing at home against the Rainier Columbians at 6:00 p.m. Corbett will be strutting in after a win while Rainier will be coming in after a defeat.

Corbett is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Warrenton to the tune of 72-38 on Saturday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Rainier took a blow against Yamhill-Carlton on Friday, falling 65-37. The loss continues a trend for the Columbians in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost four in a row.

Corbett's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. As for Rainier, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Corbett didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Rainier when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 48-43 victory. Does Corbett have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rainier turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
