Volleyball Recap: Julia Trujillo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Del Norte over Swink

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Del Norte can now relate to. They came up short against the Swink Lions on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row.

While Del Norte was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Swink's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-14, 25-18.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julia Trujillo, who had ten digs and seven kills. Elaina Consaul was another key player, getting 15 digs.

Del Norte's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Swink, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Coincidentally, Del Norte and Swink will both be playing Heritage Christian the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Lions will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
