Football Game Preview: Fannin County Rebels vs. Chattooga Indians

Fannin County is a perfect 3-0 against Chattooga since November of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Rebels will head out to face off against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. Fannin County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Fannin County is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Gordon Central on Friday as they made off with a 42-21 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Fannin County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryson Cole, who rushed for 194 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Cole is becoming a predictor of the Rebels' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Nate Oneal was another key passer, throwing for 106 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fannin County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 296 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Chattooga played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 48-21 loss at the hands of Gordon Lee. The Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.

Fannin County's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Chattooga, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Fannin County against Chattooga when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 35-7 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Indians' Zayden Cook, who rushed for 258 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Rebels to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
