Basketball Game Preview: Portsmouth Trojans vs. Fairland Dragons

Portsmouth is 2-8 against Fairland since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Portsmouth Trojans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Fairland Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Portsmouth will head into Tuesday's match on the come-up: they were handed a 44-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Dawson-Bryant out 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted against the Hornets since February 12, 2021.

Meanwhile, Fairland waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They managed a 61-56 win over the Fighting Tigers.

Portsmouth's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Fairland, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Portsmouth was dealt a bruising 75-47 loss at the hands of Fairland when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Portsmouth avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
