Volleyball Game Preview: Hillside Hornets vs. Riverside-Durham Pirates + How To Watch

The Hillside Hornets will square off against the Riverside-Durham Pirates at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hillside has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since August 18.

Hillside lost 3-0 to Northern Durham last Tuesday.

Hillside couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Northern Durham a tough time in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 30-28, 25-11, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Riverside-Durham posted their closest victory since August 18th on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Felton Grove 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Riverside-Durham was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 16-25, 13-25, 25-21, 15-7.

Hillside better keep an eye on Nureen Khan. She was instrumental in Riverside-Durham's win, getting 18 digs and two aces. Khan has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last six times she's played.

Riverside-Durham was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. They are 8-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Riverside-Durham's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Hillside, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
