Basketball Recap: South Fork Comes Up Short

South Fork and Okeechobee squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but South Fork had to settle for second. They fell to the Okeechobee Brahmans 37-32. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Brahmans recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, South Fork saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kylee Brooks posted 18 points in addition to six boards and six steals. The dominant performance gave Brooks a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vivianna Morales, who put up a point along with 13 rebounds, five blocks, and four steals.

South Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 0-19. As for Okeechobee, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-16 record this season.

South Fork does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Okeechobee, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-4 loss against Jensen Beach on the 6th.
